Campaign performance

After you send a campaign, Paysio tracks how it did, from the headline numbers down to what each individual recipient did. You see this on the campaign's detail page, so you can tell what landed, what got engagement, and which addresses had problems.

Watching it send

While a campaign is going out, a progress bar shows how far along it is, as a percentage and as a count of recipients processed out of the total. Once it finishes, the campaign is marked completed and the bar is replaced by the final results.

The stats overview

The Overview section shows the key numbers as cards:

  • Sent: how many emails went out, shown against the total audience.
  • Failed: emails that could not be sent at all.
  • Opened: how many recipients opened the email, with the open rate as a percentage of sent.
  • Clicked: how many clicked a link in the email, with the click rate as a percentage of sent.
  • Bounced: emails rejected by the recipient's mail server.
  • Unsubscribed: recipients who opted out from this campaign.

Open and click rates are your main engagement signals. Keep in mind that opens are counted when a recipient's email app loads the email's images, so some opens go uncounted if their app blocks images. Clicks are the more reliable measure of real interest.

Per-recipient results

Below the overview, the Recipients list breaks the campaign down to each address. For every recipient you see:

  • Their email, with any error shown in red beneath it.
  • A status badge: pending, sent, failed, bounced, or complained.
  • How many times they opened and clicked.
  • When the email was sent to them.

The list is paginated, so you can page through a large send. This is where you go to answer specific questions, such as whether a particular customer received or opened the email.

Interpreting bounces and failures

Not every send succeeds, and the results tell you why:

  • Bounced: the address rejected the email, usually because it does not exist or the mailbox is full. A bounce means that address is not reachable.
  • Failed: the email could not be sent for another reason. The error on the recipient row explains what happened.
  • Complained: the recipient marked your email as spam.

Paysio protects your sending reputation automatically. When an address hard-bounces or marks you as spam, it is unsubscribed so future campaigns skip it. That keeps your list clean without you having to prune it by hand, though you can always remove subscribers yourself. See Email lists.

A high bounce or complaint rate is a sign your list needs attention, for example if it is old or was not collected with permission. Sending only to engaged, opted-in subscribers keeps your emails landing in inboxes rather than spam folders.
