General settings

The Settings > General page holds the basics that identify your workspace: its name, logo, web address, and timezone. These are the details that show up across your dashboard, emails, and customer-facing pages.

Workspace identity

Three fields define your workspace:

  • Name: your workspace's name, shown in the dashboard and to customers.
  • Avatar: click the avatar to upload a logo or image. It appears in the sidebar, on your customer portal, and elsewhere your brand shows.
  • Slug: the short handle used in your workspace's web address. Only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens are allowed. Changing it changes your dashboard URL, so any bookmarks to the old address will need updating.

Edit the name or slug and click Save changes. The avatar saves as soon as you upload it.

Timezone

Set your Timezone so dates and times make sense for where you are. All dates and times across the dashboard and in emails use this timezone, so your reports, transaction timestamps, and schedules line up with your local day rather than a server clock.

Pick it from the searchable list (each option shows its UTC offset), or let Paysio detect your current timezone for you. Getting this right matters for analytics, because a period like "Today" is measured in your workspace timezone.

Statement descriptor

The statement descriptor is the short name customers see on their card or bank statement for a charge. A clear descriptor (usually your business name) reduces confusion and chargebacks, since customers recognize the charge.

This is set on the Settings > Payments page rather than here, because it is part of how payments are processed. You can also override it per charge in some places, such as the virtual terminal.

Deleting a workspace

At the bottom of the General page you can delete the workspace. This is permanent and removes the workspace and its data, so Paysio asks you to type a confirmation before it goes through. Only do this if you are certain, and remember you can switch between workspaces instead if you just want to step away from one. See Workspaces.
