Sandbox mode

Sandbox mode is a safe copy of your business where you can try anything without moving real money. Checkouts, subscriptions, payouts, and reports all work the same, but nothing is real. It is the best place to learn Paysio and to test a setup before customers see it.

Turning sandbox on and off

1. Find the sandbox toggle at the bottom of the sidebar. It reads "Sandbox off" when you are live.
2. Click it to switch to sandbox. It changes to "Sandbox on" and turns orange.
3. Parts of the dashboard show an orange marker while sandbox is on, so you always know you are testing.
4. Click the toggle again to return to live mode.

Sandbox mode is remembered for each workspace, so every business stays in whatever mode you left it.

What is separate in sandbox

Sandbox and live data never mix. While sandbox is on you see only sandbox information:

• Sandbox transactions, customers, subscriptions, and payment links.
• A separate sandbox balance and payouts.
• Search and lists show sandbox records only.

Anything you create in sandbox stays in sandbox. It has no effect on your live business.

Testing a payment with a test card

To run a checkout in sandbox, use a test card instead of a real one:

1. Turn on sandbox mode.
2. Open one of your payment links, or create one, and go to its checkout page.
3. Enter the test card number 4111 1111 1111 1111.
4. Use any future expiry date and any three-digit security code.
5. Complete the checkout.

The test payment appears in your sandbox Transactions, exactly as a real one would in live mode.

Going live

When you are happy with your setup, switch the sandbox toggle back to off. Before taking real payments, make sure you have:

1. Connected a payment processor under Settings so money can reach you.
2. Tested a full checkout in sandbox from start to finish.
3. Added the branding and checkout options you want customers to see.
