Payout settings
Settings > Payouts covers how money leaves your balance for someone else. It applies to every send: money you send to a recipient, a claimed payout link, an approved payout request, a withdrawal to your own linked account, and a refund paid back to a card.
It is a separate page from Settlements, which is about paying your own balance out to yourself on a schedule.
Payout settings are part of Paysio Debit & Payouts. If that is not set up yet, the page shows Not connected with a button to connect it first.
Instant payouts
Send bank payouts instantly decides how fast money leaves your balance for a bank account. It is off by default, which means every bank payout goes over the standard bank rail and takes the usual few business days.
Turn it on and Paysio sends over the instant rail whenever the destination bank can receive it, so the money arrives in seconds instead of days. Banks that cannot receive an instant transfer go over the standard rail as before, so nothing breaks when you turn it on.
Two things to know:
- Your Paysio Debit & Payouts account has to have instant payouts enabled on it. If it does not, instant sends are rejected rather than slowed down, so leave this off until it is set up. Contact support if you are not sure.
- This is a different setting from Instant bank debits on the Checkout page. That one is about money coming in from a buyer paying you by bank. This one is about money going out to a bank account. Turning one on does not turn on the other.
Payout descriptor
The payout descriptor is the short name a recipient reads on their bank or card statement when you pay them. It is up to 10 characters, letters and numbers only, and it needs at least one letter.
- Go to Settings > Payouts.
- Type the name you want in Descriptor.
- Save.
Leave it empty and payouts use the descriptor that was approved when your Paysio Debit & Payouts account was set up. The page shows you that name, so you can see what you are replacing before you type anything.
Two things to know:
- This is a different setting from the Statement descriptor on the Checkout page. That one is what a buyer sees when they pay you. This one is what a recipient sees when you pay them.
- Instant (RTP) transfers do not carry a descriptor. Those show your account name at the recipient's bank instead, and there is nothing to set for them.
Changing it applies to payouts sent from that point on. Money already on its way keeps the descriptor it went out with.
