Settlements

The Settlements page is where you manage how money leaves your Paysio balance: an optional payout schedule that pays your balance out automatically, whether bank payouts go out instantly, and your linked accounts, the bank accounts and debit cards you move money to and from. You link accounts so you can fund your balance (add money) or withdraw your balance to them.

Settlements are part of Paysio Debit & Payouts. If that is not set up yet, the page shows Not connected with a button to connect it first.

Payout schedule

By default payouts are manual: your balance stays put until you send money or withdraw it yourself. You can switch to automatic payouts instead, so your balance is paid out to a linked account of your choice on a schedule.

  1. On the Settlements page, choose Automatic.
  2. Pick how often to pay out: daily, weekly (pick the weekday), or monthly (pick the day of the month).
  3. Pick which linked account receives the payouts.
  4. Optionally keep a reserve: a percentage of your balance that stays behind every cycle.
  5. Save.

Automatic payouts run at a fixed time of day. The payout fee is taken from the amount sent, and if the balance is too small to pay out, that cycle is simply skipped. If a payout keeps failing, the schedule pauses itself and shows what went wrong. Fix the cause, then save the schedule again to resume it. Each automatic payout appears in your balance activity like any other withdrawal.

Instant payouts

Send bank payouts instantly decides how fast money leaves your balance for a bank account. It is off by default, which means every bank payout goes over the standard bank rail and takes the usual few business days.

Turn it on and Paysio sends over the instant rail whenever the destination bank can receive it, so the money arrives in seconds instead of days. Banks that cannot receive an instant transfer go over the standard rail as before, so nothing breaks when you turn it on.

This applies to every bank payout you make: sending money to a recipient, paying a payout request, and withdrawing your own balance to a linked account.

Two things to know:

  1. Your Paysio Debit & Payouts account has to have instant payouts enabled on it. If it does not, instant sends are rejected rather than slowed down, so leave this off until it is set up. Contact support if you are not sure.
  2. This is a different setting from Instant bank debits on the Checkout page. That one is about money coming in from a buyer paying you by bank. This one is about money going out to a bank account. Turning one on does not turn on the other.

Adding a bank account

  1. On the Settlements page, click Add account.
  2. Choose Bank account.
  3. Enter the routing number (9 digits) and the account number.
  4. Optionally add a Label, such as "Business checking", to tell your accounts apart.
  5. Save it.

The first time you add any linked account, Paysio asks for your email once to set up payouts. After that it is not needed again.

Adding a debit card

  1. Click Add account and choose Debit card.
  2. Enter the card number and expiry.
  3. Save it.

A debit card can receive money quickly. Bank accounts show an Instant badge in the list when they can receive an instant transfer, so you can see which of your accounts pay out immediately versus over the standard bank rail. The badge only appears once you turn on instant payouts, described above.

Your linked accounts

Each linked account appears in the list showing whether it is a bank account or debit card, its last four digits, an Instant badge if eligible, and a card's expiry. These are the accounts you pick from when you add money to your balance or withdraw from it.

Removing an account

To remove a linked account, click the trash icon next to it. This unlinks it from your workspace so it can no longer be used to fund or withdraw. Removing an account does not affect money already in your balance or any payout already on its way. You can add it again later if you need it.
