Sending money
Paysio lets you pay money out of your balance straight to someone's debit card or bank account. You can send manually, entering or picking the recipient's details yourself, or use a payout link that lets them claim it. This guide covers manual sends.
Sending money is part of Paysio Debit & Payouts, so it needs that connected. If it is not, you will see a Connect prompt.
Starting a send
Open Send money from the Balance page (choose Send money manually), or use the Send money button on a customer's profile. A short flow guides you.
- Choose a recipient. Search your existing recipients and pick one, or click Add new recipient.
- If adding someone new, enter their first name, last name, and email, choose Debit card or Bank account, and enter the details. A debit card needs its number and expiry; a bank account needs its routing and account numbers. A billing address is required and is saved to their profile.
- Enter the amount and review the fee, then send.
For an existing recipient, you pick which of their saved methods (card or bank) to send to.
Card vs bank rails
How the money travels depends on the method you send to:
- Debit card: the money is pushed to the card, typically arriving fast.
- Bank account: the money is sent to the bank. By default this goes over the standard bank rail and takes the usual few business days. If you turn on instant payouts and the recipient's bank can receive them, it is marked Instant and lands in seconds instead.
You do not choose the rail on each send. Paysio uses the right one for the method. Instant bank payouts are off until you turn them on in Settlements. Once they are on, an Instant badge appears on the bank accounts that can receive money immediately, so you know which sends will arrive right away. Banks that cannot receive an instant transfer fall back to the standard bank rail on their own.
Fees and net amounts
Every send has a fee, and the amount screen makes it clear who absorbs it. There is a toggle:
- Recipient gets: the amount you type is what the recipient receives, and the fee is added on top of what leaves your balance.
- You pay: the amount you type is the total deducted from your balance, and the recipient receives that minus the fee.
Below the amount, a breakdown shows three lines: Recipient gets, the Paysio fee (a percentage plus any flat amount), and the Total deducted from your balance. You cannot send more than your available balance, and the screen warns you if you try. The send button shows the exact amount the recipient will get.
Tracking a payout
After you send, you see a confirmation that the money is on its way to the recipient. The payout then appears in your Balance activity as money out, and has its own detail page.
A payout moves through statuses: it starts pending or processing while it is on its way, becomes completed once it settles at the destination, or shows failed if it does not go through. Instant sends complete quickly; standard bank transfers take a few business days. The payout's detail page shows its current status and a timeline of what happened.
