Email lists

Your email list is the set of people who have signed up to hear from you. It is the audience for your email campaigns. The Email Lists page is where you view, add, import, and remove subscribers. Every subscriber shows their name (or email), their email, and the source they came from.

Where subscribers come from

Each subscriber is tagged with a source, so you can see how they joined:

  • Storefront: someone opted in to your mailing list on your storefront.
  • Manual: you added them by hand on this page.
  • Import: they came from a file you imported.
  • API: they were added programmatically.

Adding subscribers

To add someone yourself, click New subscriber. A small form asks for an email (required) and a name (optional). Add it and they appear at the top of the list, tagged as a Manual subscriber.

Most subscribers, though, arrive on their own through your storefront opt-in, so your list grows as people shop, without you entering anyone by hand.

Importing a list

If you already have a list somewhere else, click AI import and choose a file. It accepts CSV, JSON, TSV, and plain text. Paysio reads the file, figures out the columns, and pulls out the email and name for each person, so the file does not have to be in a specific format.

When the import finishes, you get a summary: how many subscribers were imported, how many were skipped (for example duplicates already on your list), and how many had errors, with the specific errors listed so you can see what went wrong.

Exporting your list

To take your list elsewhere or keep a backup, use Export CSV. It downloads a spreadsheet of every subscriber with their email, name, source, and the date they subscribed.

Removing subscribers

There are two ways someone leaves your list:

  • You remove them. Click the trash icon on a subscriber and confirm. This takes them off your list entirely.
  • They unsubscribe. Every campaign email includes an unsubscribe link. When a recipient clicks it, they are marked unsubscribed and stop receiving your campaigns, without you doing anything. Paysio also unsubscribes people automatically if their address hard-bounces or they mark your email as spam, which protects your sending reputation.

Keeping your list to people who actually want to hear from you leads to better delivery and engagement, so it is fine for the list to shrink this way.
